Giorgio Armani is an Italian fashion house specializing in menswear founded by fashion designer, Giorgio Armani in 1975.
Armani worked as a designer for Nino Cerutti and many other fashion houses from 1960 to 1972 until he was able to establish his own brand in the mid 70’s. Armani earned international recognition through the appearance of his suit designs in the hit movie, American Gigolo, starring American matinee idol Richard Gere.
The brand expanded its offerings by launching a number of clothing collections marked with different price points to cater to a wide variety of audiences. Armani worked in cooperation with cosmetics giant, L’Oreal to create fragrances and beauty products which gave birth to its subsiadiary, Giorgio Armani Beauty.
The company’s first fragrance, Armani for Women, was introduced in 1982 which was followed by Armani for Men in 1984. The success of these fragrances led to a series of successful flankers that continues to be successful to this day.
